The World's Most Famous Arena

Spent a few days in New York City for my day off and took in a lot of sports.

Sports have been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. Watching sports. Badly playing sports. Screaming about sports. Most recently, writing about sports. While sports typically bring me an incredible amount of happiness, and while I have my favorite teams and favorite sports, I have always said that my peak happiness in pretty much anything is attending a live sporting event of two teams I do not care about, where I have zero work responsibilities, and I do not give two shits about the outcome of the game.

It does not matter the sport or the teams.

It could be a be a baseball game in Washington, or a hockey game in Nashville, or a football game in Philadelphia, or a basketball game in New York. I am just happy to be sitting there, enjoying the game, drinking a beer or five, and watching everybody else around me lose their minds about what is happening. That is peak happiness.

If I am visiting another city and there is a sporting event happening, give me a ticket and I am in. This is Adam’s time to shine.

That brings me to earlier this week when I spent a couple of days in New York City when I had a day-and-a-half off from work.

During that time I squeezed in a New York Rangers game and a New York Knicks game in a little over 24 hours. It was amazing.

At the moment I am writing for four different publications (Yardbarker, Bleacher Report, SBNation/PensBurgh, and the Athletic) as well as my own newsletter here covering everything from the NHL, to the other professional sports leagues, to the NCAA tournament. It is, at times, a lot. Even a little overwhelming. Sometimes you just need to get away for a few days.

So I did.

Let’s get into it.
