The Steelers: 3 reasons to be optimistic (and 3 reasons to be pessimistic)

It is game week. The real game week. The Pittsburgh Steelers open their 2022 season on Sunday in Cincinnati against the reigning AFC Champion Bengals.
While there was only one game difference between the two teams in the standings a year ago the Bengals absolutely kicked the shit out of the Steelers in their two meetings before going on an unexpected run to the Super Bowl. They have one of the league’s best quarterbacks in Joe Burrow, one of the league’s best wide receivers in JaMarr Chase, and a rock solid all around team. They should be the favorites in the AFC North.
As for the Steelers, well, honestly, I have no idea what to expect from the Steelers this season. I do not think they are going to be bad, but they are also pretty far from being one of the Super Bowl favorites. There are some things to like about their chances, and some things to not like about their chances.
Let us dig into them a little.
