Steelers Week 2 Review: Matt Canada, PFF and other thoughts from section 522
The Pittsburgh Steelers won an absolutely crazy game.
Before I dig into the bulk of my Pittsburgh Steelers thoughts for the week I want to just say that the best part of Monday’s 22-16 win over the Cleveland Browns was the crowd at Acrisure Stadium.
They brought it.
I have not had a chance to get to many games the past two seasons due to my work schedule, but I had a chance to go on Monday night and that place felt electric from the opening kickoff until the very end. The fans simply brought it, which is not something that has happened much in recent years. There was some concern going in that it was going to be another road fan takeover like in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers, but that did not happen at all. Not only that, not a single person left early even though it was nearly a four hour game on Monday night.
I remember back in the day that the night games, and especially Monday night games, were always the hottest ticket on the schedule. Everybody wanted them and the atmosphere was always kicked up an extra notch like it was a playoff game. Over the past 10-15 years that has not necessarily been the case as those always seem to be the games with the lowest demand. But Monday night brought that feel back, and it was awesome.
The game itself?
Sloppy.
The quarterback play on both sides?
Dreadful!
The Steelers’ offense?
Insulting!
The Steelers defense?
Well …. they were opportunistic.
But the crowd was awesome.
Now let’s get into some thoughts.
The Steelers offense is broken and it can not all be on Matt Canada
