Early season NHL vibes, Buffalo's latest risky contract, and more
The 2022-23 NHL season is underway....
Before we start, I have been a real piece of crap about updating here the past couple of weeks and I just wanted to apologize. It has been a combination of keeping up with work, general life stuff (I hit a deer!), and some slow times before the start of the NHL season.
Now that the season is here, expect more daily updates starting with TODAY.
The NHL’s opening night was on Tuesday with a pair of games, but in classic NHL scheduling fashion neither of those games involved the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche raising their banner, and they also happened about a week after the regular season technically already started. Nashville and San Jose played two real games that count in the standings over in Prague that almost nobody knew even happened. Amazing stuff.
But the NHL has more significant problems right now than just messing up its schedule. So let’s start with that dark cloud the season is opening under.
